TaiKai Con revolves around pop culture, so we have stuck to a 1950’s pop-art comic book vibe, but a little more post apocalyptic, think Fallout!
This colourful pop art vibe with a post-apocalyptic theme helps us try and include everyone in the art world. We want to be diverse enough that everyone feels that they belong.
And let’s not forget our cute mascot crow, Flappy!

TaiKai in Japanese means meeting, gathering or convention. This translates to gathering convention or convention convention which we affectionally nicknamed ConCon.
Why Japanese? It’s common for conventions or markets to nod to Japanese culture for contributing so much to the current pop culture community. Anime has become a well loved part of most conventions around Australia.

We are an artist run event, wanting to be big enough to hold a large event at the Brisbane Exhibition Centre, then in different states.
We want to cater to artists and support them.
